Irish music is the central core of An Anú, a Galway based, high end, musical duo with optional rhythm section.

An Anú play many Irish music classics, including songs and instrumentals, they also play classic blues and jazz.

An Anú have a large repertoire of classic Irish folk music and ballads and an engaging and professional performance style.

 

Helen Webb and Liam Mac Amhaíla, both seasoned, emotive and powerful vocalists and song writers, have collaborated to form An Anú, incorporating  Helen’s Nina Simone style jazz and blues singing and Liam’s uplifting Irish Ballad singing and guitar playing.  Helen also plays flute and Irish whistle and joins with the guitar for some beautiful renditions of traditional flute and whistle tunes, including Innisheer and well known Irish reels and jigs.

Irish Music and Connemara

Irish Musician Liam Mc Evilly is a Connemara native, and comes from a musical Irish family.

He has a lifetime of involvement and experience in traditional Connemara Irish music.

Liam’s own songwriting includes Historical references and tales from Irish history and mythology.

Helen Webb has joined Liam, bringing Blues and Jazz to the mix, and also uses her voice to powerfully interpret great Irish classics

such as Caledonia and Black is the Colour.
